Acoustic Treatments - Supply and Services
Rooms - Wall - Floor and ·Ceiling Treatments · Sound Isolation - Doors and Windows

In a nut shell, there are only four primary considerations of acoustic treatment:

  1. To prevent standing waves and acoustic interference from affecting the frequency response of recording studios / listening rooms.

  2. To reduce reverb time.

  3. To absorb or diffuse sound in the room to avoid ringing and flutter echoes

  4. To keep sound from leaking into or out of a room.
To insolate your music from disturbing neighboring room
To keep out-side sounds, eg traffic, planes, etc; from getting into your microphones.

Acoustic Treatments - information

Proper acoustic treatment can transform a muddy sounding room, having poor midrange definition and erratic bass response, into one that sounds clear and tight.

There are two basic types of acoustic treatment - absorbers and diffusors.

Diffusors are used to reduce or eliminate repetitive echoes that occur in rooms having parallel walls and a flat ceiling. Diffusion is often used in addition to absorption to tame reflections.

Midrange and High end Frequency Absorbers

The most effective absorber for midrange and high frequencies is rigid fiberglass. Besides being extremely absorbent they are also fireproof .

Low Frequencies Absorbers - Bass Traps
Bass traps in recording studios and control rooms are needed to minimize standing waves and acoustic interference which distort the room's low frequency response.
