Josh Bell

"When I was 6 months old, I used to fall to sleep listening to Miles Davis"

 

Josh Bell has lived in a creative musical environment all his life. His Father, mother, three uncles, grandmother and great aunt are / were all professional musicians.

 

Josh was familiar with many musical styles and a proficient keyboard player before entering Newtown High School of the Performing Arts where he studied drums with Jack Savage for six years.

 

Apart from his formal musical education Josh has played with Sydney Jazz combos Holy Moly and Electric Butterfly, theatre group Stretch MkI, comic trio The Old Spice Boys, soul / groove band Lillian Rocket and Brisbane funk / fusion outfit Afrodizzyact.

 

Josh has performed at the Sydney Opera House, the Seymore Center, Port Fairy and Woodford Festivals, on channel 10's Ground Zero plus pubs and clubs, working with some great musicians including trumpeter James Morrisson, and legendary Oz singer Mal McGhee.

 

 

Josh is currently studying Music Technology at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
