Featuring: Robert Curgenven (Darwin/Berlin/the world; 12k records): www.recordedfields.net/robert_curgenven/home.asp
Working with harmonics and textures as articulated not only through instruments/objects, in space and place, but also in time and the dislocation of the remote, Robert Curgenven’s sound explores shifting layers in the fabric of fields of perception, creating vast landscapes from carefully detailed recordings through to immersive resonances via deft manipulations of sound pressure. Employing only analogue means, in a variety of contexts from pure field recordings to feedback and instrumental harmonics to shape relations through sound, his work interweaves the unfolding of complex beauty and the quiet brutality of nature in all of its forms, described by one audience member as "like a punch in the face while elsewhere flowers bloomed."
The Deadnotes featuring The Legend!: www.myspace.com/orangetrumpet
The Deadnotes are Eugene Carchesio, Stuart Busby and Leighton Craig, from Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. Armed with an arsenal of trumpet, guitar, drums and casio, the trio make a glorious, semi-spontaneous sort of eccentric pop music that is trained in the 'school of error', and further honed in the 'university of mariachi'.
Tom Hall: www.tomhall.com.au
Tom Hall's eclectic works flourish by utilising a variety of mediums, each that reflect on his varied background and interests. With a strong focus on elements of the 'everyday' Hall's practice involves considered explorations into place, space and time. Drawing inspiration from countless 'peripheral' spaces, Hall focuses on using multiple approaches to engage and recontextualise them to the public.
Yout Dem: www.myspace.com/youtdem Barely describable, delightfully incomprehensible and seriously exciting dub via kosmiche pop via d'n'b via everything created by two dudes with a massive array of rad lo-fi gadgets

Performance Fragments (multi media exhibition march 2008) Artists: Nick McGavern (art/performance) & Tidy Kid (sound/performance)
This time around we present a collaboration project between Nick McGavern and Sound Artist, Tidy Kid. The filming of a certain visual performance will commence this week. An exhibit will be held this Sunday, the 9th of March at Alchemix. It will include the set used in the film, the props in their aftermath, paintings and sculptures used surrounding the performance piece and a music track, created and then manipulated live during the filming.
Originally created to be performed at the Tivoli Theater in December, this show will finally be on film and we hope to see you at our gallery for champagne to enjoy the aftermath and the distorted visuals of a piece which has just unfolded. Filming will be complete once the doors are opened at 2pm, 9th March.
Tidy Kid (80's hip hopa) and Nick McGavern (Tengu)
